Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Tidings (tidings.news) (the "Service"), operated by Jet Stream Ventures LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company ("Jet Stream Ventures," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Tidings. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Description of Service

Tidings is a subscription email digest service that curates and summarizes theological content — topics and debates within Christian theology — from publicly available YouTube channels, blogs/Substack publications, and podcasts, based on topics you select. Digests are delivered via email on a daily basis.

Tidings does not create the underlying third-party content it curates. We surface, classify, and summarize publicly available content from other creators; we do not control or vouch for the accuracy, completeness, or theological positions expressed by the original creators of that content.

3. Subscriptions, Billing, and Free Trial

• Tidings is offered on a subscription basis, currently at $7.77/month or $70/year, subject to change with notice.
• New subscribers receive a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period.
• Unless canceled before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged the applicable subscription fee.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled.
• You may cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
• Refunds are issued at our discretion on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact support@tidings.news.
• All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms.

4. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of access to your account (including any device or email account through which you receive magic-link login emails).
• You agree to provide accurate information (including your email address and first name) and to keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute digest content or curated summaries in bulk for commercial purposes without our written permission
• Submit false, misleading, or abusive content through the Contact or Source Suggestion forms

6. User Submissions

If you submit a message via the Contact form or a suggested source via the Source Suggestion form, you grant Jet Stream Ventures LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use that submission to operate, evaluate, and improve the Service (for example, evaluating whether to add a suggested source). We will not publish your submitted contact information publicly.

7. Intellectual Property

The Tidings name, logo, website design, original written content (including topic descriptions, teasers, and summaries we generate), and underlying software are the property of Jet Stream Ventures LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Third-party content referenced or summarized in your digest remains the property of its original creators.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or its original content without our prior written consent.

8. Third-Party Content Disclaimer

Tidings curates and summarizes content from third-party creators (YouTube channels, blogs, podcasts). We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the views, accuracy, or theological positions expressed in any third-party content referenced in your digest. Links to third-party content will take you to platforms and websites outside our control, and your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and policies.

We make reasonable efforts to include multiple perspectives on debated topics, but we do not guarantee comprehensive or balanced coverage of every viewpoint on every subject.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that digest delivery will occur at a specific time every day.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jet Stream Ventures LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, including for violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and, if desired, requesting account deletion per our Privacy Policy.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith informal negotiation by contacting support@tidings.news.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
